my Oscar picks? Best film will probably be 12 Years a Slave, although I havent seen it yet. Best actor Joaquin Phoenix in Her, although I think Tom Hanks was great in Capt. Phillips. Actress will be Blanchett for Blue Jasmine, who can add it to her award for playing Katherine Hepburn in the Aviator. Supporting actress will be Jennifer Lawrence in American Hustle. The films I enjoy never win anyway. :P As a Bond fanatic, I would have awarded Skyfall best picture easily, in last years category. Bardem for best actor. He was great as the villain. I did legitimately think The Artist was a great movie, a couple of years back, though. And a deserving winner of the best picture statuette. The Academy always snub certain movies. Apart from The Lord Of The Rings: The Return of the King, no fantasy or sci fi movie has ever won. The Hobbit has been snubbed entirely, except in technical categories. The Oscars are quite out of touch, I think.
