my first (last?) motorcycle/car accident out of the way! got taken out sideways by a cab this morning, who decided to catch a quick fare from the left lane without looking in his blind spot... Im giving my ages of riding MTB and crashing aplenty all of the credit here, as when the bike was going down I got off of it into an immediate run after the cab, never even fell to the ground. Instead, I ran up to the cab and gave it a swift kick and then loudly shared a few choice words to the freaked out 60+ year old, foreign cabby driver who kept repeating Im sorry!. there were two cars behind me who stopped the traffic, drivers out, phones in hand telling the cabby not to move and asking me if they should call the cops and if I and the bike are ok. they saw all of it happen right in front of them. Bike got a couple more scratches and I got a dose of adrenaline. It ended at that. No police involvement, told the guy a couple suggestions on his driving and went on my way. Im glad it wasnt a bicyclist, glad I didnt get hurt, glad the bike is ok... please be more careful driving! \m/ >.< \m/
