my last vlog before I am able to sleep better tonight. I was restless and decided to make a video. I want to ask your feedback or opinion. About two years ago but still using that word today. One Interpreter came up to me and said to me that I should respect that person (itself) that she is an senior Interpreter and it hit me when she used that word senior. I asked myself, who said that such a thing as consider herself a label for senior Interpreter. I asked her and to explain that part senior to me. She said that she work for a long time, have more experience and more skills and she is getting older and older. I just bam my head against the wall..REALLY?? no such thing as a label for that. I asked myself..is there a name for senior doctor, senior lawyer, senior nurse, as you get the point. I find that a little odd about that word. Sometimes, people are that stupid to just make a new label for their professional. We dont label it. We have that word, is Interpreter. For example, do we have an junior Interpreter? NO. I find that funny about that person, she is ..not the greatest Interpreter but just a good skilled one. Her visual motion is still unpractical. That is why she considers herself as a senior Interpreter? speak for itself and quit using that word. That is why I want to ask about your opinion of that topic and sometimes peoples brains just pop out of their head and where did it went? For example, I dont consider myself as a senior employee as what is my career is just my career. Interpreters career is Interpreter, not called it any label as senior or junior. I have asked other interpreters about that opinion and they asked who said such thing like that? they KNEW it is not something we would called someone a senior. That is like youre better than others? NO! just want some feedback and open to discussion. now I am able to go bed and get some sleep beauty! CLM
