my late father, Isadore Djeskelni (Deranger) was born in the early 1900s, for no one knows when and where he was born, his father Luc Roger Djeskelni had camps up Birch River about 50 miles southwest of Kai Taile (Fort Chipewyan) but he remembers growing up south of Lake Athabasca at Luezan Tue, born and raised in a traditional manner, nomadically, his nomadic instinct stayed deeply inside of him, this was why he took us out of Kai Taile in 1973 and moved us into Luezan Tue, a beautiful land with lots of animals, we have a big land, we dont need to stay in the communities which has little employment, we can always go back to our hunting camps, it is there waiting for us, Denesuline Nene is our land and our country, no false document (the treaties) cannot stop us from going back and we dont have to take their money anymore on treaty days, for they broke our ancestors agreement when they told the commissioners they didnt want a reserve, is that understood? my father passed on in 1993 but we dont know how old he was, if he can do what he did by moving out of economic stagnant community and restore our ancient lifestyle, im sure we can all do that today
