my next book will be titled MAMA: while on my recent Finland and Estonia Tour i started contemplating reflecting meditating on my next book project. my intuition suggested it was/is time to shift gears to move into a new direction. ive been thinking bout Mama a great deal lately. shes 82 now and is experiencing some health problems. Mama holds a special place in my life in my heart. she is an amazing person. shes the oldest of 13. she is an intuitive a psychic a creative an empath an artist a musician a singer and so much more. shes one of the most fascinating people its ever been my honor to know. i began my life in her womb. i spent the 1st 17 years of my life sharing our Kentucky farm house with her. today, during a long talk with Jinn, i determined to write my next book bout Mama. im gonna title it MAMA. itll include poems, stories, interviews, songs, photos, and probably some of Mamas own writing. whenever i work on a book i simultaneously continue to work on a multitude of other projects. whenever i focus on one creative project it feeds the flame for other projects. so im happy and excited bout this. oh. yes the MAMA book will include some already completed works but most of it will be new work. heres a piece ive shared with folks round the world: Mama Mama killed chickens. She popped their heads off. Put her foot on the little hens head, grabbed its legs and jerked hard. The head just laid there on the grass while the little chicken body went flopping all over the yard. Us kids ran like crazy dodging chicken blood. I liked it better when Mama took the .22 rifle to the barn and would shoot a little hen off the high rafter up near the top of the barn where the chickens all roosted. Mama was a good shot. One Christmas Eve there was a terrible storm. Daddy was off at the mines. Mama said come on and all us kids piled into the back of the old pickup truck. Mama had the shotgun. We drove slow through the storm with Mama looking all round then she pulled over and said come on. We followed. We walked a ways until we came up on a tree, a cedar tree, and Mama said get behind me. We did and she took aim and shot the tree in the trunk with both barrels. Blew it clean in two. Mama said yall get the Christmas tree and come on. Us kids let out a yell! We were so happy cause Christmas had finally come. Ron Whitehead Copyright (c) 2014 Ron Whitehead
