my policy on disputes on my facebook page: when I am struggling with an issue, or am not satisfied with my viewpoint--as occurs reliably often--I will seek out others perspectives. if I make an error of fact, I appreciate corrective evidence. however, when I express a belief or testimony based on my experience, I dont wish to entertain hostile debate. its highly unlikely that contentious comments will change my mind, or that I will change yours. if my comments routinely irritate/outrage you, pls consider hiding my posts as Ive done with some folks whose views cause me distress. I labor mightily to align my life with testimonies of friends (quakers): to recognize & honor that of god in everyone & to know that we are all equal in gods sight; & to exercise tolerance, nonviolence & simplicity, all toward the purposes of peace & justice. while a sense of humor wasnt necessarily on george foxs list of friendly traits, I think it a boon & am mildly regretful for not infusing a bit of amusement here, so pls pardon.
