nb 2:34 PM ADT Tuesday 30 July 2013 Severe thunderstorm warning for Grand Lake and Queens County issued At 2:33 pm ADT, meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm cell capable of producing hail, strong winds and locally heavy downpours. This cell is loacted just east of Cumberland Bay and is tracking northeast at 50 km/h. Communities near the path include: Cumberland Bay, Coal Creek, Chipman. Take cover, if threatening weather approaches. Strong wind gusts and hail can damage property and cause injuries. Local downpours can cause flash floods. Avoid driving through water on roads. Even shallow fast moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle away. In Canada, lightning kills up to 10 people every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors.
