newstimeafrica/archives/32621 MEC disappointed with Malawi political parties on monitors As the first phase of registration winds up, the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has not concealed its displeasure with some political parties that have failed to adhere to the placement of monitors’ guideline. “The Commission has noted that some political parties have deployed only two monitors per registration centre which is giving the monitors a challenge to monitor the process effectively in centres where there are more than one team. “The Malawi Electoral Commission would like to inform all political parties that they are supposed to place two monitors per registration team,” MEC Chief Elections Officer, Willie Kalonga has said.
