...nobody sees anything wrong with the fact that Black people only win awards for roles in movies (movies that are produced by White producers btw) that show them in unfavorable roles? Meanwhile, Tyler Perry, the most prominent Black producer, is capitalizing on the Black community by making movie after movie of meaningless BS. Tyler Perrys movies are no better than Black-produced minstrel shows. Instead of shuckin and jivin for Massas entertainment, we choose to be degraded by ourselves now. Can we please get a Black movie that doesnt focus on the dysfunctionality within the Black family or between the Black man and Black woman? Can we please get a movie about Black history that doesnt s how us in an oppressed state? People wonder why I seem angry. Im angry because we (Black people, and society in general) keep being told that the only substantive history that Blacks have is a history of oppression and I know for a fact that is a lie. I hate lies, especially blatant lies. Were even fed the lie that Africans were sold into slavery solely as a result of being conquered by Whites in the sense that we were too docile and dumb to realize that we were being duped. (S/N: the same stupid Blacks who are spreading this lie are typically in a prime position to fall under a similar fate *if* the scenario presented itself today - i.e., they have no capabilities of defense other than verbal dissent). I really wish people would pick up a book and learn something, instead of listening to popular rhetoric...aka popular lies. This isnt necessarily a Black vs White thing. This is a Truth vs Lie issue. Historical lies have been told about every ethnic group, particularly those of color. It is up to that group to either accept the lies or to set the record straight.
