northoxonftc.org.uk/results/csfta-hft-winter-league.html RESULT TIME AGAIN round 3 of the CSFTA HFT Winter League at Bisley. so before i get to the oohs, aahs and why? I would just like to thank Bisley FTO for keeping the rain and wind at bay and for a very dry course, compared to last years mud wrestling/swimming/shooting comp. :) well! so I was told, but I think that was just an excuse for some low scoring:):) A nice simple layout but with some very deceiving ranging shots, there were some long range targets catching out a few shooters judging by the number of hits to the top of the plate and some close ones too. all in all a very enjoyable day. DIV 1 Titanic (Meon1) well done to Vince Blackman, No 1 for team Titanic with a very impressive 78 (+ 5), Ali (+ 3) & Liam (+ 5) both hitting 77, Colin who along with the rest of the team are seeing their scores improving at every comp (apart from Steve) shot a 73 (+ 2). unfortunately for Steve McCrindle who has been excellent from the very start suffered with a faulty rifle, but still came in with a very respectful 68 (- 9). Roy Oliphant was the void for Meon 1 and shot a 64 Titanic were just piped at the post by Wendover 1 to win this round by 1 point, 305 - 306, but Meon 1 are getting stronger with every round, in second place with 876. Jerry Hat-Tricks (Meon 2) a very big well done to Mark Binny who only started shooting this year with a PB of 72 (+ 3). top shot for the team was Mick Phillips with a 73 (up 1) then Terry Trott 70 (+ 2) and Stu (hair-trigger indeed) with a 69 ( + 1) Dean Yaxley who came in of a very impressive void (76) shot a 67. Terry Wrigley (suffering with toothache) was the void for meon 2 and had a 65 but still managing to keep it consistent (- 3) score for the day of 284, Fifth place with 834 DIV 2 Russes Ladettes (Meon 3) The top team in Div 2 now with 849 point although missing out on first place for the day to (bloody) Wendover 2 by 6 points,(282 -288) coming joint second with the Old Farts oops i mean Meon 4 :) Russ again shooting very well with an excellent 76 (+ 4) next was Jamie MacC with a good 70 (-3),Si came in with a 69 (- 6) unusual for Si as he has been shooting very very good of late. and Luke with a 67 (-9) and Scott 64 (-2) not like Meon 3 to drop so many points. with no void. The Old Cogders (Meon 4) lets start of with Dave Henderson shooting on the void and shot a PB of 72, up 12 points. another relatively newbie. Well done! looks like that HW100 is working for you. Nigel Brown taking top slot with a excellent 73 (+8) a and Steve H keeping it very steady with another 71, Ralph took it up a notch with a 70 (+1) and Alan Rowe a 68 (+4). Richard Howell 64 coming in of a void shoot of 69. now in Third with 819 point. Mikes Meerkats (cute & cuddly Meon 5) Our Mr Don Vickers again shooting a PB of 71 (+1) going from strength to strength and he was shooting with a bad back, needing the help of his shooting partner to pick up his rifle when getting up and down into the prone position . so a big THANK YOU to JOHN COOPER of Wendover 2 who in the true spirit of HFT (taking the mickey too) assisted in helping Don throughout the competition. Next up me with a 67 so keeping it steady with no improvement :( Neil P shot a 64 (- 2) but was a very proud dad as his son Justin (on the void) shot a 57 in his first ever comp. Cameron MacCallum walked away with his head held high with a 63 (not to sure if this is a PB so if some could find out for me please) after coming in of the void (57) +6 very well done. Unfortunately for Ian Ashton after a last round of 67, developed scope issues and had real problems with ranging, but carried on to shoot a 49, so well done for not packing it in before the end. Meon 5 ending up with a score of 265 and 6th in Div 2 with 771 points. Well done to all of our shooters on Sunday, a break now from the competition until Feb 2015 so a very Happy Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
