EKWUEZE COMMUNITY EXPRESSES APPRECIATION TO OKOWA-ika weekly The people of Ekwueze Community in Abavo kingdom, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, have expressed appreciation to the Senator representing Delta North at the National Assembly, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, for influencing a road project to the community. The community expressed appreciation when Okowa, in the company of some staff of his constituency office, visited the project site for an on the spot assessment of the level and quality of work so far done on the Ekwueze/Hospital Road, which is nearing completion. Speaking through one Mr. Fidelis Ibude, the community noted that the construction of drainages and tarring of the 1.3 kilometer road has brought relief to the entire community and other users of the road, which they said was in a very deplorable state before the intervention of Senator Okowa whom they described as, “a good representative of the people of Delta North in Abuja”. “We are really very happy for the construction and tarring of the Ekwueze/Hospital road, which is a major road in Abavo kingdom. Our people have had to suffer a lot of discomfort using the road, especially during the raining season. The entire Ekwueze community sincerely thank and appreciate Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for attracting and ensuring the full execution of this project. We pray God to continue to lead and uplift him,” Mr. Ibude prayed. After inspecting the project, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, expressed satisfaction with the quality of work so far done, and advised the contractor to ensure the job is completed as scheduled, saying that the Federal Government was committed to seeing all projects completed. Senator Okowa, who was overwhelmed with the out pouring of gratitude of elders, women and youths of the community for the road project, used the opportunity to advise the people to always ensure they jealously protect all public infrastructures in their domains, as according to him, “any project sited in our communities are for our benefits and so should be protected.”..
