not entirely sure this is fully relevant to this Buncombe Politics group, but just in case some here might find it noteworthy: in contemplating the recent chatter regarding the political duopoly seeking libertarian votes for its Collectivist candidates... LINO (Libertarians In Name Only) is a term Ive only recently been toying with using, but not in regards to Collectivists within the partisan duopoly pandering for the independent or libertarian vote, rather for the Anarchists among us in the greater liberty movement. It is past time for libertarians to separate ourselves from the anarchists. For far too long we libertarians have welcomed anarchists into our fold, only to the detriment of the goal of advancing Liberty in “Neo-Amerika”. As a result, the masses often believe that libertarians are really anarchists. Thankfully, Ron Paul helped to set the record straight, but we must continue to follow through in making a clear distinction to the masses the stark difference between libertarians and anarchists. The ideology of Anarchy is rooted in deceit which would have us believe that the path to liberty begins with the dismantling of ALL government and then maintaining a society as such. Yet when pressed about how such a stateless society would handle violations of Natural Rights, the answer always involves forming some kind of [government] to try such matters, thus self-disproving the ideology altogether. The Anarchy movement often masquerades itself using alternate names, for example Voluntarism”, in attempt to garner support among the ignorant. Disguising itself using a more inviting alias becomes a necessity for such a movement, for even if adopting Anarchy COULD lead to Liberty, its a complete NO SALE to the masses... its even a no sale to those libertarians who spend enough time digging into this deceptively advertised ideology. By contrast, the only political-economic system that fosters the advancement of Liberty is one by which a government is formed having limited power, scope, and jurisdiction whose primary function is to uphold and protect the unalienable Natural Rights of the Individual — thus, one rooted in the philosophy of Individualism rather than Collectivism. The sooner we libertarians fully understand the stark difference between the true ideology of Liberty VS the deceitful ideology of Anarchy and make an effort to distance ourselves accordingly, the sooner the liberty movement can continue to grow into a politically effective force. And no anarchists, force/power is not always a bad thing -- such is why it is utter foolishness for a political party/movement to build an ideology around defining it in such manner. Taboo words among the Anarchist faction lurking among our libertarian movement like force & power have anti-liberty meanings when they are used to violate our Natural Rights. However, when force & power are used in order to protect our Natural Rights from ANY entity, foreign or domestic, which would otherwise violate our Natural Rights, then these are forces of power wielded for Liberty. With regard to those so called “libertarians” who verbally attack those of us who engage in even the process of voting, and/or for even occasionally supporting liberty-minded individuals (as perhaps our best example, Ron Paul) who have decided to work within the political duopoly in hopes of advancing Liberty or the education thereof, they do so to our benefit by revealing for us that they are LINO-Anarchists. Doing that part for us, we just need to make a concerted effort to distance ourselves from them by pointing out the stark differences in ideology as already covered. Of course, I would far rather convert LINO-Anarchists into being a true proponent of Liberty — this should certainly be our first goal once recognizing them as such. Unfortunately, it often seems that the members of this LINO-Anarchist camp are so rooted in this false and deceptive ideology, that they often appear incapable of breaking out of this deceptive narrow minded view in order to gain a better perspective of reality. With regard to thinking the Libertarian Party is some political bastion of hope for advancing Liberty in “Neo-Amerika” at this point, unless the LP ejects its Anarchist faction and decides to focus its political strategy toward actually taking control away from the Collectivists rather than being a non-effective non-growth political party for another 40 some odd years as a result of its alignment with such a limited anarchistic ideological axiom as the so called “NAP”, for the liberty-minded individual who considers entering a political race in order to advance Liberty in this entirely corrupted nation, there is hardly any choice BUT to work within the partisan duopoly if victory is mandatory for achieving such a goal. Unless/until a third party defines itself in such a way that truly champions Natural Rights through a system government that likewise does so, the support among the masses in order to reach this goal will remain largely nonexistent. Thus, LINO-Anarchist factions must be removed from within such a political party before it spreads like cancer throughout, minimizing any potential of otherwise growing into a truly effective force toward the goal of advancing Liberty. 8-)
