nuclear can scale faster than anything else to zero-out carbon in electricity generation on national scales is a PROVEN FACT - just ask France, which achieved this feat inside of 20 years (late 70s to early 90s). To Al Gore, this seems to be a most inconvenient truth. Why? So how of Gods earth can this be taken off the table, especially when Fukushima radiation death toll is exactly ZERO, TMIs radiation death toll exactly ZERO. The empirical evidence alone, over thousands of safe reactor-years of operation, is enough to demonstrate that nuclear power is far safer than any other large scale method of power production, including hydro! (Dam failures have killed hundreds of thousands of people, reservoirs lay waste to thousands of sq. miles of land). My only quibble with this is that it implies that current reactors arent safe. How is safety a problem when the very worst nature can throw at a 50-year old plant, resulting in a multi-core meltdown, doesnt kill anyone? If we applied the same standards to fossil fuels... credit to steve003... who had explains all of this matter. (thumb up to you)
