o:) HERES HITTING THE NAIL RIGHT ON THE HEAD o:) Our parish church, an invaluable heritage, stands today as our steadfast guardian in our town’s journey of faith. Efforts have been made on this structure to keep its appearance strong and timeless as possible - many times. But unfortunately these efforts have vitiated its very essence, albeit not maliciously. Repairs and improvements here and there have unintentionally defaced this beautiful inheritance. Perhaps, this happened because we hardly harbor a sentiment towards its beautiful past. Or perhaps, this is due to our lack of awareness on the importance, relevance, and significance of one’s heritage to our today. And thus, the repairs and improvements implemented failed to consider a very important facet in keeping intact the aesthetic value of its design. Today, it is somewhat sad to note that in that way we have become disconnected from that distant past with our failure to preserve our church’s original architecture. It is not too late though. Our parish church is just waiting for us. We need to do something. We can do something. Here are photos of our parish church’s interior. I took the recent picture while the old one were lifted from the album of Mrs. Nancy Agravante Bermudez. From looking at these in comparison, one can realize up to what extent the alterations have effaced its beautiful original artistic creations like the ceiling, angels, the pulpit, etc. Let us reverse the trend, and make way for the church’s grand restoration. Let us support our new parish priest’s advocacy in preserving our precious heritage. As he puts it: “Be brave. Make Badian more beautiful, more bountiful, more blessed”.
