OMER “BOBBY” JACKSON, 88 years of age of the Hunts Fork Section of Hurley, VA, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at his home following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Joe and Myrtie Hurley Jackson. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and an Ordained Minister, serving as Pastor of Kelsa Chapel Freewill Baptist Church for 18-years and member and assistant pastor of Jackson’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, a retired coal miner and carpenter, and leaves behind a family of 132. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1-Son: Randall Jackson; 3-Sisters: Delphia Dawson, Brookie Jackson and Madeline Jackson Hurley; 3-Brothers: Rev. Britt Jackson, Scott Jackson and Bert Jackson; 1-Grandchild: Gregory Paul Jackson. Friends may call at the Jackson’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services Thursday and Friday evenings at 7:00 P.M. Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons.
