W went into office determined to carry out war in the Middle East, Iraq in particular, his tax cuts were not equally effective for everyone (he was still pushing that line in a Forbes interview in mid-2012), and W: The Revenge of the Bush Dynasty documents clearly that his motivation for seeking the presidency, other than that war thing, was to get back at America for voting Bill Clinton in over his father, and for how Clinton had, as he saw it, disgraced America with his behavior while in office... (now, Im not going to try to tell you that what Mr. Clinton did was acceptable behavior, particularly for a man in his position- but it wasnt anywhere near the same thing as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran%E2%80%93Contra_affair, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reaganomics. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bush_tax_cuts (before taking too seriously statements from the Heritage Foundation specifically, but also others cited, you might want to take a look at their funding base as well), or false claims of WsMD in Iraq to justify a war there- just a very small number of things that can be compared & contrasted for their relative quotients of evil) Whatever Obama has done that I havent been particularly happy with, he hasnt quite started a war of his own yet, at least overtly, although the talk of going into Syria, and the possibility before that that we might interfere in the Ukraine (and that, right or wrong as I might be, I might have actually supported) has me wondering if we can ever really learn from the mistakes of others or simply have to commit our own in order for the point to get across... Conservatives saying that their snipings at Obama are no more or no worse than the criticisms that W faced while in office are just so far off the mark that they not only are not bullseyes, not only do not hit the target, but do not even ding the bale the target is mounted on. If all else fails, remember: they promised us death panels. PROMISED.
