ok, so I said stay tuned I have a story . . . Recently i was contacted by phone by a woman trying to find bikes for 2 boys, 5 and 8, that live in her apt complex and they have no bikes. they go outside and merely watch the other boys and girls ride. Occasionally Nicoles son would let the 8 year old borrow his bike but his bike is SMALL. hes only 5! so these boys stand on the sidelines and simply WATCH the fun! Nicole also said the parents are not very available, dont seem to care! OK, i am IN! I say, Nicole we dont do this that often, random callers but yup, we want to help. Where are you? I wasnt prepared for her answer . . . Minnesota!! LOL! But i cant walk away! I say, OK, Ill help and I trusted the Universe and sent her the money from me. Why not? Yes, you could say sucker but Nicole followed up with pics and a picture of the Walmart receipt. I noted it cost a bit more than $100 and I offered to send the balance. Nicole said, No need. Its covered and Walmart even gave me a discount! And she sent pics that if I could download from my phone id post. DUH!! but the story doesnt end there! I got a text today from Nicole. Let me quote it, Yes, thank you so much again. Those boys are enjoying the bikes. Ive also posted a wanted ad on Craigslist seeking free bikes so i can try to help every kid possible. Sound familiar??? Makes me smile. Ten years ago, that was us!
