ok so I think I will actually punch the next person that calls me a lady of leisure. It is all about choice people, and its certainly not leisure..yes I get to shop in the day sometimes, or go for a walk but there is always stuff that needs doing. I dont sit around filing my nails, flicking through magazines all day!! I will return to work at some point and, shocker, before I became MUMMY I worked, but we made the choice that I would stay at home and be there for the kids with sacrifices..we lost my salary,miss out on stuff like holidays abroad, the latest gadgets, blah blah BUT it was our choice and one that we were both happy with. What makes me really laugh is that generally these comments come from self labelled Independent Strong women who would never live off their husbands/partners/ be a princess and stay at home all day having coffee mornings....who have been TOLD they have to work by their partners, who have to then tell their partners what they are spending their own independently earned money on and justify why, and who have to then go home from their jobs and do all their housework, cooking, look after the kids whilst the man goes to the pub, because thats womans work..VERY independent. Good morning!!!! :D
