omg.... Could it be, the bigger the issue, the bigger the outcome/connection? Project horse, Jewels, layed down finally after a lot of "No thank you"s, then stayed down while I gave her a sponge bath with a little plastic bowl that I kept filling in her water bucket. She would lay flat and occationally sit up to check in with me. After a pet, she would lay back down, sigh and groan! Soft eyes and happy nuzzles. wow.
