on this day seven years ago-- i was three weeks overdue with my son. i went to the doctor to find out i would be induced the next morning. i was scared. TO DEATH!!! i had no idea what to do. how to be a mom. and then (despite being pregnant for over 9 months) is when reality set it that there was going to be another human solely dependent on me. emotionally and financially. i was supposed to teach him how to be a good person and citizen. i was supposed to raise him. yet, all i could think about was i cant even keep a goldfish alive!!! but, then i realized-- kids dont come with instructions but hey!! parents dont come with instructions or user manuals either. i knew this to be fact because me and Shelia Necaise McDaniel had spent roughly the past 19 years trying to find manuals, instructions, or on/off switches for each other!! then the next day came and he was here. i was a MOM!!! we have spent the past seven years teaching and learning from one another and being a mom is by far my favorite job!! happy birthday eve, Layton Morris DeLoach!!!
