...our current definition of tolerance includes permission to be selectively intolerant of the intolerant, which of course means we have no tolerance for them at all. This is a predominant irony in our culture, especially between liberal and conservative Christians. This game is played out on the global stage and only diminishes the credibility of the Christian message. Being loved and accepted by God is the primary means of engaging any meaningful acceptance and tolerance of others. Grace and tolerance are not only about managing our anger in disagreements. For Christ followers, grace and tolerance are a state of being. (Dallas Willard / Gary Black, Jr., The Divine Conspiracy Continued)
