Springfield Police acquire new ATV vehicle April 3, 2014 at 4:11 pm by ipswichgeoffreys Springfield Police have taken delivery of a new Yamaha Viking for use in the eastern end of the Ipswich City Council area. This ATV was purchased with a Ipswich City Council donation of $17000 and as a police asset, will add another dimension to the delivery of police services across the Springfield and Goodna Police divisions. Springfield Police were happy to launch this vehicle today and acknowledge the support of Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale and local ICC Councillors Victor Atwood (absent from photo) , Sheila Ireland, Paul Tully and David Morrision in helping to secure this funding. It will create many community benefits. Springfield Police would like the public to be aware that as this ATV has conditional registration. A condition of the permit is that when it is moving the red/blue lights need to be activated. There is no requirements for other road users to give this vehicle clear passage under those circumstances however if the siren is also activated, please provide courtesy extended to all emergency vehicles.
