This might be worth a video. https://youtube/watch?v=ci-JuKYYZOg#t=29m30s Okay, this is for Oscar Nowell Addis mainly. If a philosopher is someone who comes up with original arguments and doesnt particularly study other philosophers, then philosophy professors, by definition, are not philosophers, because they mostly study other peoples arguments. Were studying these philosophers because they thought for themselves and not because they studied other philosophers. They werent influential for their analysis of other philosophers. Now obviously he knows that philosophy professors give their own arguments. So its through their (extensive?) studying of other philosophers that they actually disqualify themselves from the title of philosopher. (This begs the question of wtf he has been doing in his 30,000 hours studying philosophy.) Also...citing Socrates and Aristotle as not academics...er...if the Academy and Lyceum dont count as the academy, what plausibly could? And (Oscar can correct me if Im wrong) but surely Aristotle *was* influential to a degree for his analysis of Socrates, both in Politics and the Nichomachean ethics.
