Just after 11.30am (Friday 23 January 2015), officers attached to Macquarie Fields Local Area Command executed a search warrant at a home on Lorikeet Avenue. During the warrant police allegedly located and seized a bolt action rifle and ammunition. A 46-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station. He has been charged with possess unauthorised firearm, possess ammunition without holding a permit, and not keep firearm safely. The man was granted conditional bail, to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on 16 February 2015.
