Job Description Competencies: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Troubleshooting. Complex Problem Solving. Team player Proactive, resilient and enthusiastic Ability to handle pressure situations Experience: None required, any general IT experience in similar client facing support role would be an advantage Job description: Provide 1st and 2nd line support to users through the following tasks: Install and perform minor repairs to hardware and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications. This includes laptops, desktops, and printers. Install and perform minor repairs to software by following design or installation specifications. This will include Windows OS, MS Office, Lotus Notes, Internet Explorer, Pastel, and Caseware. Oversee the daily performance of computer systems. Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cable, operating systems, and appropriate software. Maintain record of daily incidents, problems and remedial action taken, and installation activities. Read technical manuals, confer with users, and conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems and to provide technical assistance and support. Develop training materials and procedures, and/or train users in the proper use of hardware and software. Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service. Assist with all ad-hoc requests from management for special projects/tasks as they arise, including Facilities management Promote an environment where staff receives outstanding client service. Cultivate cooperative relationships within the department and with users. Assist with implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures. Available, as per the afterhours support schedule, 24x7.
