reminds you that John Cage (5 September 1912 – 12 August 1992) was an American experimental composer and music theorist. Probably best-known for his still-controversial work from 1952 entitled 4’33” -- a three-movement composition for any instrument, or group of instruments, whose score directs the performer not to play anything; see youtube/watch?v=hUJagb7hL0E&feature=fvwrel -- Cage was also an electroacoustic innovator who pioneered extended techniques as he explored concepts like minimalism and indeterminacy. Indeed, although several of Cage’s earlier works include more accessible pieces for piano, still one recognizes the composer veering away from traditional harmony by foregrounding somewhat complex, mathematically-based rhythmic structures: see https://youtube/watch?v=ExUosomc8Uc&feature=related and https://youtube/watch?v=XF1DoVdHM9M&feature=related
