#reminiscence Marian can you remember? We were in school at the time, others had gone home for that intimidating two-week break between WAEC and NECO. Sadly, I had to stay back for my fine arts exam (I think Bolanle was around too), which was always two weeks after normal exams had ended, I cannot remember why you were around though...maybe cause you didnt wanna go all the way to Benin for just two weeks. Looking back now, I wish we could have traded places. Do you remember how lonely we were, how SS3 block felt like a grave yard with lonely lurking ghosts, how Mayowa, Elizabeth, Bukunmi and one other person I cant remember, alongside you and me, were the only ones left in SS3A (they too were waiting for Technical drawing exam), and how we bonded so much because of our common predicament? Do you also recollect how we barely ate -our food wouldve been consumed before we managed to reach the dining hall. Sometimes, we had rice without stew, just cause we chose to behave like ladies. Do you remember how that male VP came around one day to help our plight. I just wish I can recall his name, that nice lanky bespectacled man. He brought novels and newspapers for us so we wouldnt die of boredom. Ahem! Do you remember The third twin by Ken Follet, one of the many novels he brought? That novel blew my mind! We would discuss it and laugh about it, and when others returned from their break, they didnt understand us when we said stuff like: Me: See you sooner, Montezuma! You: In a flash, Succotash! *grinning like an idiot* We threw them in confusion and that even made it more fun, remember? Well, that book we read some seven years ago, Im reading it again. I stumbled upon it yesterday and I just wanted to let you know. :)
