saw Movie 43, an already infamous comedy about a guy trying to sell an outrageous, tasteless and racist sketch comedy movie to a Hollywood studio that, in turn, we end up witnessing in between, as acted out by some of the hottest names in Hollywood. He guesses the point of the movie is to satirize the fact that Hollywood will finance any piece of junk nowadays and people will go anyway as long as there are big stars in it (Grown-Ups 2 recently proved that) and hell admit that the idea to point that out is a good one and that there is some twisted inspiration in some of the set-ups (parts of the superhero speed dating and the idea of children living inside/powering modern machines). However, Robert Altman beat this movie to the punch on the concept over 20 years ago with his masterpiece, The Player, and the idea is totally lost because of how unpleasant, hateful, endless, wasteful and just not funny the movie is. Much has been pondered of how this movie got made with all the famous people that are in it, and the inevitable explanation of that will probably be more worthwhile and funny than the end result; 1/2 a star, which is probably being 1/2 a star too nice.
