sharing for a friend: Greg Bumgardner My Resume as a professional musician I have been with Nuevo-Flamenco-Latin Jazz/Smooth Jazz/New Age band, Acoustic Jungle for 12 years. Acoustic Jungle has released 2 CDs that can be purchased on CD Baby and iTunes. Acoustic Jungles music can be heard on Jango Radio and has appeared on SmoothJazz. Acoustic Jungle has appeared on television on KEYE-TV We are Austin Live, KTBC FOX 7 (Twice), The Infynit Hour (Austin Cable Access) and Balcony TV. Bands that I have been a member of: • Johnny Solinger Band - Johnny Solinger has been the lead singer of multi-platinum selling recording artists, SKID ROW, since 1999. Johnny replaced SKID ROWs notable singer, Sebastian Bach. Johnny released a solo CD in 2007 and I became his touring bass player for the project from 2008-2009. • Floramay Holliday Band - Floramay is an award winning singer/songwriter formerly in Austin. I played with Floramay from 2003-2004. Some of the members of her former band have gone on to become members of bands of several illustrious Austin Musicians including Kevin Fowler and Wade Bowen. • Jessica Shepherd Band - Jessica Shepherd is a well known Austin singer-Songwriter that has appeared on stage with a whos-who of Austin musicians and has charted on Americana radio stations in Australia and Europe. • Garett Endres Band - Garett is an up and coming Americana singer/songwriter in the Austin music scene. • OMalarkey - Traditional Irish music. Notable musicians I have played with on stage: Kim Dechamps (Cowboy Junkies, Charlie Robison), Van Wilks (ZZ Top), Shelley King, Guy Forsythe, Haydn Vitera (Asleep at the wheel) and 5 time Latin Grammy award winning percussionist, Henry Brun. Appearing in the opening act I have opened for: Del Castillo, Aaron Neville, Jose Feliciano, Esteban, Jesse Cook, Strunz and Farah (Twice), The Rippingtons, Earl Klugh, Ottmar Liebert, Peter White, Mindi Abair, Rick Braun, California Guitar Trio & The Montreal Guitar Trio, Steve Cole, Nick Colionne, Shilts, Jeff Golub, BB King, Clint Black, The Mavericks, Groupo Fantasma, Jimmy LeFave, Kevin Fowler, James McMurtry, Toni Price, Rusty Weir, The Guess Who, The Iron City House Rockers and Steppenwolf. ---- I have also appeared in celebrity functions with chef Curtis Stone and actress Eva Longoria. --- Notable festivals Ive played: San Antonio Jazz Festival - JazzSAlive, Gruene Wine and Music Festival (3 years running), Buc Days (Corpus Christi), The One World Theatre events (Austin). Music (bass) study: I am primarily self taught. I have studied Jazz and Classical double bass with Zlatan Redzic (Assistant principle bassist with the San Antonio Symphony) and George Fahlund (Double bass teacher, freelance classical, jazz and theatre bassist and bassist with the Austin Symphony orchestra) Gear: I have used a lot of different gear over the years. Its always changing. My current gear is - American Fender Jazz bass (String thru body, 4-string); Palatino Electric Upright Bass (4-string); Englehardt 3/4 scale acoustic upright bass with Fishman pickup; PBC 6-string fretless bass (EMG pickups, active pickups and electronics, Steinberger style headless tuning); Takamine Jasmine electric/acoustic bass guitar. My amps are always changing. I currently use Gallien Krueger.
