sitting on the fence & observe what is happening at our campus. In my estimation, around 450 participants (100 NGOs,Academic Staff+ 250 Faculty of Law+ 50 Lawyers, Politicians, Activists+ 50 Others) involved in the rally. Briefly, they are fighting for academic freedom, repeal of the sedition act, solidarity for Azmi Sharom (charged) & Safwan Anang(found guilty). Y majority not take part? Respondent A :dunt understand it well enough about academic freedom & sedition act? whats that mean? without any supervision, so terrorism, genocide oso can be taught in the lectures? freedom at all or with certain conditions/scopes? how to do it;privatize UM, no subside n funding? capitalist ownership? when & where we are heading towards if we support them? who is the person in charge & supervise? izit just the old wine in new bottles? Respondent B: Law is not perfect but its the best way to maintain order cos based on social consensus. when an exception is made, everyone deserves the same. Guilty or Innocent? Let the courts decide. Media pressure is not suitable to influence juror‘s actions. Respondent C: Whos Azmi Sharom & Safwan Anang? what happened here? Respondent D: Hey~if I am free afternoon, I will probably take a nap. Hmmm~UM students.
