so PT went really well today. Dad brought me up and met Mom at PT, and he put me in my handsome new sweater (you can kinda see it in the pic where Renette is holding me) so i was super cozy on my trip. i got to do my normal stretches, exercise, and massage and THEN i got to try the water treadmill! luckily ive gotten lots of baths my whole life, and i love being warm, so the warm water feels good. I was even really good while Renette had to strap me into the little life vest. I didnt want to walk with my front feet much at first, and then everyone had to help by holding up the vest with the leash so one person could walk my front feet and one my back, but once i got into the motion and rhythm, i was walking with them. the best part was once i was about done and telling them i didnt want to do any more, they all stopped to help turn off the treadmill, and when Dr. Kern let go of my back feet I KEPT WALKING!!! I took about 7 more steps ALL on my own! it was a little bit of being on autopiliot, and my brain working out the whole walking thing, but I did it! (did we get it on film?? of COURSE NOT!!) lol, it always happens when you least expect it... so far there was no extra charge today for the trial one, but we will have to see if my sessions become more expensive with the additional treatments. and then i got a nice rinse, and towel dry and massage, and laser warmed me right back up!! great day with great progress!
