so i see this on my news feed. thinkprogress.org/justice/2013/06/05/2108171/florida-judge-rejected-stand-your-ground-defense-for-black-woman-who-fired-warning-shot-during-domestic-violence/?mobile=nc and after a bit of research i find this.. cbsnews/8301-504083_162-57434757-504083/fla-woman-marissa-alexander-gets-20-years-for-warning-shot-did-she-stand-her-ground/ in the end i have to question the motives of think progress. after all, when you see these progressive liberal rags promoting gun control. then look at the actual facts from the police reports? why did this woman fail to just get in the car or leave the house and call the police? instead she retrieved her gun from her car and went back into "his" house demanding that he leave,. when he refused she fired a warning shot forcing "him" and three children to run from the residence.. now from what i understand, the make my day/stand your ground law is not about using deadly force to evict someone from their own home. it is authorized only in a situation where your are being threatened with death or serious bodily harm.
