so, pesach is around the corner, mashaallah: movement out of mitzrayim: narrow places/limitations. i feel mine starting already. yes, i do it the organic multireligious earthodox way, lol! i will start counting the Omer next week in my multireligious earthodox way, combining sefirot and divine attributes from islam, attentiveness to the Earth from many spiritual paths. this year, i dedicate the merit of that highly-detailed work (i spend hours trying to find the right divine name to go with the sefirot and an appropriate calligraphic accompaniment: it should be a book some day, inshaallah, no?) to three people who have had such a profound impact on my life that they are way beyond important!: my rahmetli baba, to Hyla Shifra Bolsta (may their memories be as a blessing to ALL generations) and to my BIG holy brother, Reb Zalman Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, may he be granted health and galaxy-oceans of blessings! this is a big project for me every year; i think i started really doing it with focus and wild imaginings about 4 years ago. it is my big performance piece/installation of the year. i would love to create an installation space for the days of the Omer, leading up to Shavuot when i bust out Mevlana Jelaluddin Rumi and the dancing/quaking Sinaï and swooning Musa/Moses/Moshe, upon him be peace!
