.... so theres a whole lot of us up late tonight, Lord -- and You know the names of us people who just want to give up & throw in the towel, You memorize the faces of our people battling cancer, You wash the wounds of all of us people in relationships that hurt deeper than anyone else knows, and You touch the bruised places tonight that no one sees. Sometimes, Lord, we dont need any more words --- we simply need a witness, we need someone to sit with us & see us & keep company with us & say we. are. not. alone. There it is -- Your presence holding our wounds tonight, Lord. Your presence sitting with us, seeing us, not letting go of us. Were seen & known & not forgotten tonight. When someones walking through a storm sometimes a simple silent presence is a greater gift than a steady wind of words --- and Your Presence is exactly that gift tonight, that tender embrace that enfolds us in a healing and courageous peace....
