so whats my page all about? - To me shabby chic is a style that is about taking things that other people overlook and seeing the beauty beneath the surface. The things are shabby, paint is peeling perhaps revealing the wood beneath, there are cracks, in my Gramma’s favourite phrase theyve seen better days And maybe that’s the point. Because these are always things that were once stylish, often they were the design classics of their day. They usually say something about the era they came from and that gives them a depth that something from a department store now a days will never have. I choose them and make them my own for a appearance of age and signs of wear and tear. At the same time, a soft, yet cottage-style decor.
