some days you have to sit back and look around you and think about how your decisions have affected your life. I have a place to stay, a good job for the most part, have a few close friends but some of those friends have seen the point im making from a contractors point of view, ive worked for every major telephone carrier and some not so major in the last 17 years. I know some people who got out of the so called business and found local things to do because it finally takes its toll. i know of people who live in the same town I do who have never been out of the tri state area and are happy with that? in 17 years ive been to 48 states and out of the country twice. do you ever sit back and think about what you have done? I have seen a lot of things, from seeing jason britton at stunt wars in florida to seeing steam rise from mt st Helens in seattle to the first ever side by side 200mph pass by two tagged licensed and insured street cars at rockingham, ive seen the redskins and eagles play in philly, I saw dale Earnhardt sr race at Bristol. but at what cost to your life? are these things worth being away from your real life your friends and family for months at a time? I was lucky enough to find a decent job close by for a year that let me spend my dads last year here with him. this time of year makes being gone harder than ever. you have to wonder how much of your life did you actually miss while you thought you were really living life? sorry for rambling just needed to speak my mind for a minute. and I know its a few days early but happy birthday dad ive not forgotten our ice cream :)
