#stlwx #mowx #ilwx #stl Definitely a night to keep the weather radios turned on and the TV set to Fox 2 News....and an eye to your favorite warning app or facebook page (hopefully this one). Very dangerous thunderstorm complex is heading across northeast Missouri and will be in the Quincy/Hannibal region within the next 30 minutes...capable of destrucitve 80+ mph winds, tornadoes and very large hail. This storm complex may develop southward into the Bowling Green area in MO...but appears to be on a track to stay mostly north of Bowling Green, MO...to Carrollton, IL line. People in the path of this storm should treat this a possible tornado situation. Further northwest...several additional short lines/clusters of intense thunderstorms continue to develop and grow and intensify. These storms will be a major concern for everyone along and north of the I-70 corridor in MO and IL...including all of the metro STL area after midnight...with a growing risk of damaging winds and hail into the STL area after about 2am....and lasting through about sunrise. The zone highlighted in dark orange is the zone where destructive winds are the most likely....and where storms will arrive a bit earlier. The yellow zone still has favorable conditions for severe weather...but probability of the most intense winds lowers a bit the further south you go. That said... folks in metro STL and within the yellow zone still need to be very weather aware later tonight and into the pre-dawn hours. In addition to the winds and hail... repeating storms may eventually lead to a flash flood threat in spots as well. Im heading off to bed...for now... but warnings will post automatically to my facebook page...as always...as they are issued by the NWS.
