story of THALAIVAA : Scene opens with Nasser in 1988 background, where Marathi community attack Tamilians in Bandra/Darawi to quit Bombay (Today’s Mumbhai) Sathyaraj takes the position of “ANNA” to save the Tamil people and hands over his son to Nasser, who moves to Australia. After 10 mins, Scene moves to current period in Australia, where VIJAY runs a water biz (GANGA & Where Santhanam works). VIJAY’s intro is given as an entry to a dance competition under the banner “Tamil Pasanga” . Amala Paul accidently meets VIJAY in a shop and joins the “Tamil Pasanga” dance group and stages the competition to win the Show, making way to love each other in due course of time. To fix their marriage, VIJAY travels to Mumbhai to meet his father (Sathyaraj) along with Amala Paul and his Father In law (Suresh). But he lands there and understands that his father is in trouble and this leaves a shock message to Suresh and Amala Paul. Sathyaraj clears the air with VIJAY and later tries meet Suresh & Amala Paul to soothe his son’s love interest, which makes a twist to interval. Post interval : Sathyaraj is arrested and on his way back to Police station, he is torched inside the Vehicle, which leads Vijay to take his father position in course of time. He finally ends the Villan with 1.45 HRS (2nd half screen time). HEIGHTS : Chemistry between SANTHANAM- AMALPAUL is glorified better than VIJAY-AMALAPAUL in the movie VIJAY wins the dance competition easily, No competition dances shown Entire Australia follows his sloopy step, AL VIJAY failed to ingredient a good mass step. THALAIVA word sounds as THALA during the first time where VIJAY meets his father SATHYARAJ Most scenes are from Nayagan, where Kamal hassan steals the SHOW and here AL VIJAY steals the STORY For Audience, few scenes will pop up recalling Basha, Thalapathi, Saami, Sura At many places VIJAY fans will feel their mass idol and get blood gushing, But AL VIJAY pours ICE COLD water within a fraction of second, with so called twist ————————— Positive: Santhanam, Vijay’s presence Negative: Story ( Length 2.57 HRS, Slowness, Many scenes recalling yesterday’s “Nayagan” ) But a ardent cinema lover can make it in the title card itself where “AL VIJAY thanks MANI RATNAM” Disappointments: Vijay’s Silence, Music ( BGM Repeat mode ), Songs not catchy and Especially “Vaanganna Vanakkanganna” lands at wrong time & Nirav Shah’s camera failed to capture the content.
