suffers from Optimism Deficit Disorder. Only distantly related to hopelessness, this complex condition arises from too much unalloyed misery on matters where one hoped for better outcomes. This is the only reason why I advocate kindness to me. Certainly not interested in sympathy and pity. O.D.D. (sic) operates because the mind receives the world and elaborates on it according to the best intentions the self possesses, but plays through the consequences of a hopeful interaction with the world and creates outcomes much stronger inwardly than they become in real life. Over time, the energy is sapped away from hoping things will pan out properly, or properly, but the faith remains because one knows the positive thinking principle of having to have faith.
