the Amash amendment to HR 2397 is overly broad, reactionary by design and blunt as a policy prescription. Programs and processes this amendment would effect are in fact carefully designed to protect our civil liberties. Critics so easily ascribe intrusive intent. But, in reality they do just the opposite, their purpose is to ensure liberty. I recommend a no vote on this poorly conceived Amash amendment.
