the Great Depression was was presided over by a Democrat President who served 3 consecutive terms, named Franklin Delano Roosevelt. As odd as it sounds, the entire country was composed of “red” states then, meaning Democrat states. Republican states are considered “blue”. All 50 states voted Democrat. The Republicans were not in power. This is easily verifiable by just looking it up yourself! Of course, I learned it in U.S. History class in school. When Democrat John F. Kennedy was in power, there was a struggle between the Democrats and Republicans in Congress to pass the Civil Rights Act. The Republicans are the ones who wanted it. Not the Democrats…they wanted blacks to remain segregated. The KKK is entirely composed of Democrats. President Abraham Lincoln was a Republican. It was he who freed the slaves by order of the Emancipation Proclamation. The Democrats did not want that. John Wilkes Booth, the man who assassinated Lincoln was a Democrat, who was angered by Lincolns desire to free the slaves and that’s why he shot him. Americans fought in WWII to keep Hitler from taking over Europe and the world. America waited until the last minute to accept what Winston Churchill was telling us, that if we allowed Europe to fall, then we would be next. When we finally joined the war, Hitler fell. just my two cents!!
