the problem with modern education when i was at college, one of the things we had to do was prepare, and deliver a presentation about a song. it could be any song. but we had to talk about the rhythmic content, the harmonic content, and the melodic content of the song. we also had to perform a section of the song on an instrument i did straws pulled at random by meshuggah. i talked about the time signature and how there is only 1 in meshuggah songs. i talked about the scales used in the solo. i performed the entire song on bass. i was told my presentation was distinction grade material when we had to evaluate and write up our presentation and the feedback we received. i scraped a pass and heres the thing. if ive already proved i know what im talking about by getting a distinction for the presentation. why do i then have to have my grade pulled down because im not good with essays?
