these guys deserve all the support you can give. Their NHS con tract was sold to a private company as part of the governments under the table privatisation of the NHS. Said company then slashed their pay by 40% and cut all benefits which they were entitled to under their NHS contract. These brave people said screw you to CARE UK and promptly went on strike. Said company tried to justify their actions by stating the new level of pay was comparable to that paid to existing staff. These people work in care homes and complexes and are mobile and take care of the elderly and severely disabled. Some are highly qualified and have studied for many years to attain these qualifications. Meanwhile CARE UK posted record profits, so you have to ask where is the justification for this massive pay cut. The answer is simple. If they hadnt slashed the pay of the NHS workers, they would have had to raise the wage of their existing workers (many of which earn minimum wage) to a decent living standard, which would have eaten into their massive profits. Another point to make that the owner of CARE UK is a major tory donor which im sure is no coincidence, as are all the benefactors of NHS contracts doled out by the tories. It should also be noted that all the tory cabinet have interests in companies receiving NHS contacts so the conflict of interest is obvious. What continues to astound me is the lack of questions being asked about this scum who are destroying our society purely to line their own pockets.. FFS WAKE UP!
