this is the info i got from the project manager for the building of the ramp for the local disabled vet… if interested, please let me know so i can get your info to him. Darrell Byrer Scott A Sutcliffe @ryan rogers helton John Ertz and Keith Helfrich i forwarded this info to you via email earlier. Greetings Everyone, Thank you all for stepping up to help a Veteran in need. The Veteran: Mr. Bond, Charles “CW” Bond, is a Texas native, born and raised in Arlington. He served his country in the Army as a cook stationed at Okinawa during the Vietnam War. When asked what hed like people to know about him, he said, Ive had a good life.” He enjoys spending time with family and friends who visit him at his home, and his constant companion and protector, his dog Scooter, who loves CW and chasing tennis balls. CW says he loves good BBQ, and helping neighbors by looking out for their chickens. Location: 1176 Jones Street Smithville, TX 78957 Take the 95 South from the 71. Drive south past the main part of Smithville, take a left on Hel Kat Road, and a right on Cemetery Rd/Jones Street. His small trailer park is a quarter mile on the right, and his unit is the 4th on the right. Below is a link to the mapquest location of his place. mapquest/#ea20ea18645fa1426ddcf503 The Project: Mr. Bond only has steps leading up to his small trailer where he lives. We are going to build him a ramp. Materials will either be donated or bought at a discount. We need four people experienced with building ramps to work on the project on Saturday. The goal is to finish the ramp and get it painted on Saturday, as a Christmas present from the local Veteran community to our Comrade in need. I am asking for any of you who have experience with this type of construction to please reply to me via email. I know some of you have already said you want to do it, but please confirm. If we have enough workers, or if some aren’t able to do a full day, we may be able to do shifts. The plan is to start at 0900 in the morning, and work till the project is complete, estimated with painting to be about 1800. I encourage anyone with their own basic hand and power tools to bring them. If you have a skilsaw, chop saw, compressor, horse etc…we would encourage you to bring that as well. Also, we will be supplying lunch, coffee, and water for all the volunteers, so if plan on being there and helping, let me know. We can definitely use more bodies toward the end, where we expect to be able to paint the rail before we wrap up. We are all doing this for one reason, to help a comrade. I am looking forward to meeting and working with all of you, and seeing what we can accomplish this weekend.
