this year on the occasion of independence day, the messages of honble president and prime minister delighted me and evoked hopes for future of the country. they rightly emphasised for responsibility of each and every individual towards society, members of society and country. every persons participation can only be remedy for coping and eradication of problems. we Indians have developed mentality to not care ones own responsibility but impose liability on governments only. I may recollect memories of my childhood - at that time there was a kachcha road connecting village to the outer world. no government fund was available for its maintenance and repairing. each year after rainy season all the male persons of village including we children happily made shramadan and the road was repaired. we always delighted after completion of work. other works in village were also performed through shramadan; even construction of kachcha house and huts. there was great solidarity amongst the people. every person in the village was family member and participating in pain and pleasure of each other. there was relation of trust. there was no problem and fear of offences against women. now we are lacking those responsibilities and solidarity. I always think whether with passing time we have developed or devastated. country can only develop when every person will realise his responsibilities and work for it.
