General Situation at 04:00 AM local Time At 04 a.m. LST today (2 July), tropical storm “RUMBIA” made landfall at Zhanjiang (nearly Hainan Island), China at latitude 20.6 degrees North and longitude 110.4 degrees East with maximum sustained wind about 85 km/hr, moving northwest at about 20 km/hr. It is forecast to decline to the tropical depression. In spite of no effect on Thailand, people traveling to southern China should prepare for the safety. During 2-5 July, the southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand will intensify with more rain over the country and isolated heavy rain in the South West Coast. The wave is expected about 2 meters high in the Andaman Sea. All ships in the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution.
