Distribution On Aug 8, 2014 General Situation at 04:00 AM local Time The monsoon trough lies across upper Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam. The moderate southwest monsoon still prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. Scattered to fairly widespread remains likely over the country, as well as isolated heavy rain in the upper North, the Northeast, the East and the upper South. People especially in affected areas should beware of the severe condition due to prolonged collective rainfalls. The provinces include Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, Trat, Ranong and Phang-nga. The wind waves are expected about 2 meters high in the Andaman Sea, and all ships should proceed with caution. Typhoon “HALONG” over the Pacific Ocean is forecast to move north to southern Japan. During 8-9 August, all travelers should check the weather forecast before departure for the areas. This storm has no effect on Thailand.
