Weekly Iron Folic Acid Supplementation Programme.. will cover d population in d age group of 10-19 yrs.. to be implemented across d country in both rural n urban areas.. will cover 6cr girls n 7 cr boys enrolled in gvt n aided schools frm cls 6th to 12th.. n 7 cr out of school adolescent girls.. anaemia is d under-lying cause of 20-40 % maternal deaths.. major features of d scheme 1. Supervised weekly IFA supplements of 100mg elemental iron n 500mg folic acid 2. Screening of target groups for moderate / severe anaemia n reffering these cases to an appropriate health facility 3. Bi-annual deworming (Albendazole 400mg) , six months apart , for control of Helminth parasitic worm. 4. Imparting information on improving dietary intake n prevention of intestinal worm infestation…..
