today i plan to do a bit of gardening because i may. and plant a little maple leaf flag in one of the pots by the road. i live in a country that is free and rich in so many ways. my parents brought me here in 1961 when i was just 3 years old. i am proud of my Dutch beginnings and culture, but i am glad i live here in Canada. i remember being 10 in 1967 when Canada turned 100! i have a few of the special coins they minted for the centennial. fish on the dime. hare on the nickel. cougar on the quarter. bird on the penny. canada goose on the dollar coin (used to be a silver dollar, not the looney we have today) and a wolf on the 50 cent piece. i love that money and i love Canada. Happy Birthday Happy Birthday Happy Birthday! 147 years old today!
