today this girl at my restaurant, probably 3 years old had a notebook and pen out and i asked her if she was going to write a novel and she said yes with a smile, and I asked her if it was going to be about pirates and she said yes and her mom now with big eyes said that was funny because right before they came in she had turned to her and told her she wanted to be a pirate for halloween and then the dishwasher walks in through the door, this amazing kid from Guatemala, and hes wearing this red pirate shirt, and the mom points to it. and i turn around and i see it. and its all so subtle and perfect. and pirates.
